Since our last blog, the Origin team have kicked off festival season in style! We've been busy cooking for hundreds of fire food lovers, both at home and on the road.
Here are some of the highlights of our festivals and in-house events...
To coincide with the March Equinox, we hosted our first New Forest Lamb Experience Day at Origin HQ alongside guest chef Lee Moreton.
This was a spectacular celebration of the lovely local New Forest lamb, curated as a butchery and fire cookery masterclass.
An awesome group of people, who got to indulge in sumptuous feasting throughout the day, and one of our finest moments of 2026 so far!

That same evening, we welcomed our dear friends the New Forest Hounds for their end-of-season meet.
We loved serving the Hounds ladies and gents our festival style barbecue including our signature 16hr oak-smoked pulled pork, served in a roll, as dirty fries... or as Will's favourite, the 'Big Daddy' burger - which is pulled pork loaded onto a 6oz smoked beef burger!
COOL MEDIA STUFF
We pounced on the golden opportunity to co-host a feasting photoshoot with DJBBQ at London’s famous Gipsy Hill Brewery.
On this event we delivered an authentic live-fire experience for a global corporate client through agency Tribe & Gather.

FESTIVAL SEASON LOADING!
We were so stoked to be invited to feature with DJBBQ at Adam Purnell aka Shropshire Lad's Embers Fest in Ironbridge!
As myself @BignoseBBQ, I played my part in contributing to the food & DJ area, combining both my passions of DJ'ing and BBQ cheffing.

Leading straight on from Embers and hitting the ground running... we showcased the Origin brand for the first time at one of the biggest European sporting events; the prestigious Badminton Horse Trials.
This 5 day of trading saw myself and my away team serving a firm Origin Barbecue favourite, the Beirut Bowl.
Folks loved my authentic Lebanese chicken shawarma and beef kofte and it was fantastic to see people coming back to us, each day, as our repeat customers!

Meanwhile, back at home, Victoria and Rich took the helm for Drop The Anchor’s 9th Birthday celebrations which took the form of the May bank holiday beef festival.
A splendid turnout, the team were extremely busy and proved they could function efficiently with me out on the road.
This filled us all with confidence that we can be in two places at once, and still deliver the same quality authentic barbecue!
Massive props to DTA Brewery, too. Reaching nine years of successful trading as an independent family-run business is a huge achievement!
We’re incredibly proud to be one of the cogs that keeps the wheels rolling with DTA at East Close Farm, along with the awesome Backroom Productions who manage the music affairs.
MORE FESTIVAL FUN!...
On the end of May bank holidays, we were honoured to be a part of Drop The Anchor founder Neil’s 50th birthday, which took the shape of a fun and boozy Blues festival.
We created a Deep South inspired menu featuring smoked brined turkey, a brand-new Carolina barbecue sauce, smoked Hampshire beef burgers and Wildfarmed breaded shrimp Po’ Boys, which sold out in record time!

The Blues fest was so superb! It featured show-stopping performances from Hugh Budden & The Blue Chords, with Drop The Anchor's gifted musician, Joe Curtis, on guitar. You may know him as bearded Joe, the brewer/barman!
EXCITING TEAM NEWS
We are delighted to welcome chef Luke and butcher/chef Ash Cole to the Origin family! We look forward to seeing what these talented guys bring to our pits, smokers and prep kitchen over the coming months. Please help us keep them busy!
